Since this month has a holiday that’s all about luck, leprechauns, pots of gold and the Irish, I pulled together a column of appropriate romances for you!
I’ll start with one of my most recent releases Star Cruise Lucky Charm, where the Female Main Character (FMC), a new waitress in the interstellar cruise liner’s casino might just be Lady Luck herself. And the beautiful scales her alien pet sheds on occasion might be the best lucky charms ever. Or it could all be coincidence but the manager of the casino takes a personal interest in finding out and of course is soon falling in love with her.

Get Lucky: A Saint Patrick’s Day by Ginny Young ticks all the boxes – a hunky leprechaun (forget the Lucky Charms cereal mascot – in romances the magical green men are always adults with a grownup physique). The FMC wanders into his lair and has to figure out a way to use her three wishes to get home again. Or should she stay and explore the romantic possibilities? AmazonKU
In Lucky Charm by Stormy O’Hara leprechauns are “chaos fairies” and as the FMC says, “…my luck starts to change when a mysterious stranger dressed like a hot leprechaun gives me a gold shamrock as a welcome to Ireland gift.” Never mind her fiance just broke up with her upon her arrival in Ireland. The leprechaun has seen to it everything else will go well for her, including meeting him in his disguise as a bartender. Romance ensues but he can only remain in human form for so long – will she still love him once he changes into his true self? (Reminder: romances always have a Happy Ever After ending.) Readers enjoyed this “comfort spice” read as one reviewer put it. AmazonKU
Leprechaun Luck: A Curvy Woman Paranormal Romance (Lucky in Love Book 1) by Krysta Fox is a short read all about magic. The leprechaun MMC and his brothers have spent centuries searching for their stolen luck. If they don’t manage to recover the stolen magical items by a certain deadline they’ll lose all their residual magic too. The FMC has luck to spare. They meet at the magic club the MMC runs with his brothers. This is a short read with instalove, sweetness and steam. There are two sequels telling the romantic journeys of the other two leprechaun brothers. AmazonKU
Oops! Leprechaun: Gay MM Supernatural Romance (Accidental Mates Book 8) by Anitra Lynn McLeod actually does feature a leprechaun of small stature. The human MMC is a college athlete who’s had a string of bad luck, jeopardizing his ability to keep his scholarships but when he rubs a golden coin left to him by his grandfather, out pops the leprechaun to grant his wishes. Things don’t run smoothly of course but the two end up being fated mates and there’s an HEA. Reviews were a little mixed on this one, in part because the leprechaun is somewhat devious and given to lies of omission, which bothered some readers more than others. AmazonKU
See Me by Wendy Higgins is a modern day folktale with a 17 year old American FMC who is a member of a magical family and who has agreed to an arranged marriage with an Irish MMC (the leprechaun). When she arrives in Ireland there are complications, including a conniving Fae princess but readers praised the character development and the handling of the genuine romance which grows between the main characters. As one reviewer summed the book up: “There was great humor, just the right dose of teen angst and romance mixed in with magical Irish lore.” Amazon AB
For a completely different approach to the topic there’s Leprechauns and Lemon Bars: A Sugar Shack Holiday Novella (Sugar Shack Witch Mysteries Book 6) by Danielle Garrett. This is a novella in an ongoing series and the FMC and MMC go for a romantic getaway, only to encounter an irate leprechaun with a missing hat. The hat is connected to his pot of gold and he’s convinced the couple has stolen it. By the end of the novella all is resolved and the romance can proceed. Readers are very enthusiastic about this series. AmazonKU AB
If you’re in the mood for a quick holiday read there’s The Leprechaun’s Mate – A Paranormal Romance Short Story by Elliot Ason, a charming story with an FMC who’s been drifting through life and takes a trip to Ireland in hopes of sorting herself out and getting a fresh start. The MMC is trying to keep his family’s business going in Ireland…and he’s a leprechaun. He recognizes her as his fated mate immediately but then he’s got to convince her the magic is real. AmazonKU
Her Lucky Love (Holiday, Montana Book 4) by Carrie Ann Ryan pairs a widowed mother of three and a man who found the end of the rainbow and as a result has a golden coin with magical powers. He’s been in love with her from afar for 10 years. There are nasty gnomes to be dealt with and the MMC has to persuade the FMC to trust him and his love. This is part of an ongoing series about the small town community but can be read as a standalone. Amazon AB
The Warder’s Leprechaun by Viola Grace has more magic in it than some of the other books mentioned. The FMC’s cousin has been struck with a memory eating spell and so she journeys to the leprechaun settlement deep in the woods to plead for help. She and the leprechaun she’s dealing with have some unfortunate history together and he drives a hard bargain since he doesn’t trust her. Readers enjoyed the story but wished it were longer. Amazon
If you’d like to blend your holiday magic with a murder mystery there’s Leprechauns and Larceny: A Paranormal Witch Cozy Fantasy Mystery (A Book Store Cozy Mystery 6) by Lucinda Race. Featuring a witchy bookstore, an upcoming wedding, a murder, an ongoing romance between the FMC and the MMC and pirate’s treasure that may or may not exist, this cozy paranormal mystery pleased readers. May the luck of the Irish be yours this month whether you find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow or not!
VS Note: And one more that didn’t make my deadline for the column:
LEPRECHAUN’S LUCK (EVER AFTER UNLEASHED) by Viv Thorne
I captured a leprechaun, but he’s got me under his spell. I came to the tiny village in Ireland to pack up my dead uncle’s cottage and resurrect my photography career. Imagine my surprise when I stumble upon a metaphorical pot of gold: journals documenting his friendship with a leprechaun. So I do what any desperate burn-out would do—find the burly ginger, drug him, and tie him up. But when I snap his photo, I trigger some sort of curse. If I can’t convince him to grant me a wish in five days, I’ll lose my creative talent forever. And this silver–tongued, immortal menace is not cooperating. He’s smug, infuriating, and I can’t help but fantasize about doing absolutely filthy things with him. Worse? His emerald green eyes twinkle like they know exactly what I’m thinking…and approve. Still, he refuses to grant my wish, even after I free him. Yet somehow amid the misty forests, lush meadows, and our heated kisses, he teaches me how to feel the magic of a place again. I’m changing my wish. Because what I really want now, is him. AmazonKU
