I think some people avoided the week after the USA election for doing releases but still quite a good assortment of titles to report…
As always, I recommend sampling before you buy! I have not read most of the new releases listed (although I always end up one-clicking a bunch as I prepare these posts LOL).
IVAR’S ESCAPE (ASSASSINS OF GRAVAS BOOK 2) by N J Walters
Ivar el Gravaso—a prince of Gravas—wakes in a prison cell with no idea how he got there or even who he is. If his captor can’t get answers from Ivar, his days are numbered. When a strange woman sneaks into the prison and promises to get him out, he’s suspicious. Is this nothing more than another trick by his captor or is she truly there to help?
Delphi is an assassin sent by the Gravasian government to infiltrate the space pirate stronghold of Tortuga in search of the missing prince. She finds a prisoner who is well-spoken, knowledgeable, and ready to fight, even though he has no idea who he is. He might be her target. It’s difficult to tell due to his ragged appearance. But no way can she leave him behind, no matter who he is.
Dee is afraid of flying. But she’ll do anything for the chance to enter the Sky Mates program and be matched with a loving mate of her own. To overcome her greatest fear, she enlists the help of a big alien warrior with bravery to spare.
Sky Warrior Falcon is under intense pressure to return to his home planet with a Sky Mate. He can’t believe his luck when the sweet and smart redhead instructor who’s enchanted him since he arrived at Galactic Top Gun School turns out to be his match. Except, the only thing she seems passionate about is going out of her way to avoid him. Is she hiding something? When he discovers she’s signed up for lessons at a fear-of-flying clinic, he switches places with her instructor. If she’s serious about going sky high, he’ll make sure it happens with him. Determined to see Dee reach new heights, Falcon finds out that when it comes to true love, the sky is definitely not the limit. But will his planet allow their most talented pilot to pair up with a mate who’s firmly grounded?
True love only happens once in a lifetime, right? Nixy Vogel waited a long time for wedded bliss, only to find herself widowed two years later. Working for the Silverstar Agency has helped ease her grief. So, why is the alien who’s trying to put them out of business stirring such a longing in her shuttered heart? Waiting several lifetimes for “the one.” The ancient mate-matching tradition of Kai Firewing’s clan could end unless the Silverstar Agency is exposed as a fraud. Simple enough to do…until his rival lights a fire in his heart as only the soul mate of an immortal phoenix can. Will Nixy embrace her second chance before it—and Kai—goes up in flames?
My sister gave herself to the raider warlord to save me. Now I’m hunting him down and getting her back. Despite my captivity, I’m still determined to find my sister. This Vandar warrior might not have her, but he knows who does. If I can give him what he wants, maybe he’ll help me find her. But can I risk letting him control more than my body? Can I risk him plundering my heart?

I’ve lived my entire life on Kleptha IV, on my family’s elmgern ranch. When the raids begin, it becomes obvious that war is on the horizon. My only parent is recalled to active duty, to fly one of the great warships of the Kordolian Empire. I’m twenty-three and like my age-peers, the next year should have been filled with chaperoned parties, short-term internships, and social introductions, called the Year of Seeking. At the end, my twenty-fourth natal day party would have seen two announcements. One, which of the internships piqued my interest enough for me to pursue it as my specialty. The second, a betrothal to a social and, hopefully, romantic match. With my davatir away serving the Empire, I will have no one to preside over my Year of Seeking. But Davati is as devoted to my care as always. Davati’s brought me to Jorah, homeworld of our race and seat of the Kordolian Empire. A special school has been set up by a human who traveled halfway across the known galaxy just to open it…(more blurb on ebook seller page…)

I’m not supposed to be here. Not on this planet. Not in this galaxy. And especially not surrounded by massive alien warriors. The other women all believe we’re safe with them, but I don’t. Maybe it’s because I’ve already seen how awful humans can be, and I have no reason to think aliens will be any different. At least the one named Jaro seems to agree with me that combining our forces is a bad idea. He looks at me with the same suspicion I have for him. But as our group makes the dangerous trek to the Voxerans’ encampment, one wrong move separates me from the others—and to my shock, it’s Jaro who comes after me. Now we’re stranded together, forced to rely on each other to survive. If we can’t learn to trust each other, there’s a good chance we’ll die out here. And if we do learn to trust each other? Well, maybe we’ll get more than we bargained for.

Fired from her job weeks before Halloween, Willa worries if she’ll ever be able to pay the rent, or worse, decorate her home for what is clearly the best holiday of the year. But all is not lost. A job posting for Gary’s Gourds catches her eye. She’s never worked on a farm before, but that’s no deterrent. What she does find deterring, however, is the imposing male in charge of the business. He’s tall, he’s grouchy, and he’s downright furious that she keeps interrupting his day.
VS Note: Not a romance but I know we have many Star Wars fans in the scifi romance world. I love the concept of these stories!

Instead, she asks one of her regular customers—Carlisle, the handsome British exchange student—to pretend to be her boyfriend for the awkward event. He gladly agrees, and when the two spend time together, Kelly soon realizes the attraction between them is very real, which should make the family dinner far easier than if they had to pretend. But what she doesn’t know could make an already uncomfortable Thanksgiving feast go completely off the rails…Carlisle is from another planet. Between her ex and an alien, Kelly has found herself in a world of trouble.

But Lila will always be her priority. And after her cheating ex, Shea’s doubtful she can trust a man again – least of all a sexy Ezak-X who seems to have no interest in her. The female next door drives him crazy…Garr doesn’t understand the point in talking, let alone being social. Grunts and a word here and there have suited him just fine. But when the female and her child need help making it to their family for the holidays, he can’t just turn his back on them. VS Note: I know we have a lot of Linda Mooney fans and two of the stories are scifi so….
BARNEY – She looked forward everyday for him to come by. Then came the one day when he didn’t. GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE – All it took was one missing ingredient to melt the heart of a lonely old man. AN EXPLOSIVE COMBINATION – In a post-apocalyptic future, a group of survivors reminisce about their first Thanksgiving after that climactic event. Forced out of the comfortable solitude of his laboratory, Ari must leave their home world of Britannia and search the farthest reaches of space for his other half. He hastily equips himself with a flawlessly tied cravat, a handful of clues, and his small science vessel. When he gets an offer from a frantic, upper-crust professor in need of a pilot, he has no choice but to take the job. If Orin can keep his heart (and other portions of his anatomy) from leaping every time sweet, innocent Dr. Campbell looks at him, this should be his easiest job yet. Rugged Orin and aristocratic Ari work together to navigate the lawless areas of space beyond the Verge, soon discovering that they work well together in all areas. Their immediate and intense attraction to one another is an obstacle to their plans that neither saw coming. In their search across the stars, can two desperate men find their home in one another?
VS Note: A scifi release of note. Not a romance. Sounded good, put it on my TBR List…

They’ll have to get through Helen first.

He better hope he’s dead, because now she’s free and if she discovers he intentionally left her behind, her wrath will make the monster that created them seem like their best friend.
Warning: If you have any triggers at all, please do not buy this book. This book shows the violence and abuse required to turn highly trained soldiers into killing machines with no thought of right and wrong. This book shows the plight of the women who are given to them as ‘rewards’ for good behavior. While the first few chapters are dark, this story ultimately becomes a tale of survival, revenge, and ultimately love, that will always eventually overcome all.

Fairies in the garden. Frost on the pumpkins. Farmhands at the dance. Wyn Outler doesn’t talk about where he came from (or how long ago). All part of the vows he took when he and his best friend turned their backs on the In-between. Decades later, when a letter arrives from an orphan boy who thinks he’s found his uncle, Wyn faces the monumental task of welcoming two children into a household rife with secrets. Alfie is quite sure Merritt House is magical. Uncle Wyn’s quirky rules only add to the farm’s mystique. He’d do anything to stay. Even if it means pretending not to notice that the chickens are enormous, the cows are a little too clever, and the cook has a tail. However, his baby sister Hazel, who is forever bending the rules, grows up with some peculiarly romantic notions. First love will make things awkward for everyone, especially the three farmhands who live in Cozy Cottage.
VS Note: The entire blurb was: “Final book in Circle of the Stars Series.” So here’s part of the blurb from book one: Reverse Harem. For Book one: “…Hollyn Parker is running for her freedom. For her life. Born and raised in a community that subjects her to the worst kinds of horrors, she must escape, or she will die. Thrust into a world that is so unlike her own, she finds herself in another prison. At least this one has a set of sexy triplets willing to help her. ..”
Cora Smith only wants peace. She wants to find a place she can live without looking over her shoulder for trouble, for it to be somewhere she’ll be happy, and somewhere her mom can go about cooking pot cookies and talking to the ghosts. She doesn’t expect to find it in a town called Badlands Territory. Then again, she also doesn’t expect to find the town has so many secrets. One of them has her heart aching for more, and that scares her more than anything. Jackson Havoc is alpha to the Havoc wolf pack and is the man who knows Cora is his. He’s only hoping he has the chance to win over the woman who doesn’t seem to know shifters exist.

That is, until I ran smack dab into his chest the moment we arrived at Raphael’s castle. It turns out that after the turning, Raphael had taken him in, knowing full well that he was important to me. The lords insisted that they meant it as a nice gesture, and while I agree that it is, it’s also turning my whole world upside down. Now I have to fight off the magnetic feelings I still feel for Carden whether he remembers me or not, all while falling for the monsters I never had any intention of loving.

I am an experiment, data to be collected, nothing but a number. At least that was how my life had been until I was rescued by the most unlikely group of men. Rescued might be too strong a word though. The men of the Immortal Hunters Motorcycle Club aren’t exactly friendly. And when I find myself locked in a cage, yet again, I begin to question their intentions. They aren’t a regular MC though. Yes, they are heartless, merciless, violent, chaotic… but it’s all in the name of saving humans from supernaturals. These men are tortured, each one stuck living with the demons of their pasts, and some of the sexiest men I’ve ever seen. Even if they are a little psychotic. I can’t get attached though. Not when my life is on the line. And definitely not when I find out that I might be more dangerous than all of them combined.

Piper and her warrior sisters had been around for several millennia. Their time of fighting wars and conquering kingdoms was now a distant memory. Before Queen Dante passed, she’d graced her prized warriors—the falcon, hawk, eagle, phoenix, vulture, and owl—with humanity as well as immortality. Piper wasn’t really happy with the way her job was going and how much travel that would be required of her in the near future. She liked the art that she made, but she wanted to do whatever she wanted, not fill specific orders. She wasn’t feeling the inspiration for that. Grant had lived in Queen Dante’s kingdom since before the old king had died. He and his mother were fae and, therefore, immortal. He had done many things over his lifetime. Being fae and their unity with the earth, Grant and his mother were the healers for their community. When Grant and his mother were invited to King Dante’s new castle for dinner, he was excited to see what the new king had done with the place. What he didn’t expect was the charge of magic he’d receive when he met Piper. It knocked them both on their asses. Neither knew what to expect from the other, nor what magic they had exchanged. Although Piper was wary, Grant couldn’t wait to find out.

Genetically engineered soldiers of the far future, the Badari were created by alien enemies to fight humans. But then the scientists kidnapped an entire human colony from the Sectors to use as subjects in twisted experiments…the Badari and the humans made common cause, rebelled and escaped the labs. Now they live side by side in a sanctuary valley protected by a powerful Artificial Intelligence, and wage unceasing war on the aliens. Some overarching issues do remain unresolved in each book since this is an ongoing series but romance always wins the day in my novels!
I’m a huge fan of Laurann Dohner’s New Species series and Lora Leigh’s Breeds series and had always wanted to try my hand at writing my own series about genetically engineered beings. So I did! 15 books and counting… And I love Nalini Singh’s Psy-Changeling series and have learned so much from reading her books about writing a long running scifi romance series with an entire cast of characters.
Each Badari book typically features one couple but as the series goes on, previous characters are involved. The books can be read as standalones.
AYDARR’s story: ill Garrison, a maintenance tech at the Sectors Amarcae 7 colony, goes to sleep one night as usual only to wake up in her nightgown stranded in the middle of a forest on an unknown world. There’s no time to think as she’s stalked by carnivorous predators and rescued by genetically engineered warriors calling themselves the Badari. Turns out they and she, along with her whole colony, are now prisoners of the Khagrish, a ruthless race of alien scientists. Working for enemies of the Sectors, the Khagrish have created the Badari to be super soldiers.
Aydarr, the Badari alpha, isn’t sure he can trust Jill but his attraction to her is undeniable. He impulsively claims her as his mate to prevent her death at the hands of the Khagrish.
Can he continue to protect her from the experiments already underway? Will his claiming her put his pack in jeopardy from their alien masters?
As Jill searches for a way to rescue her fellow humans and get them all to safety, she finds herself falling for Aydarr, despite the secrets he’s keeping. She has a few of her own.
The situation becomes dire when Aydarr and his pack are sent offplanet on a mission, leaving Jill unprotected, prey for the senior scientist. Can she escape the experiments he has in mind for her? Will she be able to thwart the Khagrish plans and liberate humans and Badari alike? How will she and Aydarr reunite?
LINKS TO RECENT NEW RELEASES POSTS from Veronica:
“New” is generally plus or minus a week or two. I try to catch up on ones I missed in recent months. And I may mention ‘special items’.
I do NOT cover every single new release in SFR/FantasyR/PNR. I never have. That would be an impossible task for any human! I assemble my list by hand every week based on various informal inputs, and I do curate the list to some extent…
Some authors aren’t in KU but still don’t list books with Apple or other platforms. This report is very time consuming to prepare so I’ve always had to limit myself and cannot go and look up every book on all the platforms. If an author gives me their other buy links, I include them here but generally I develop the post on my own, not from author-supplied information. I curate and prepare this post individually every week to help connect readers/books/authors and I have to be very careful not to give it so much time as an activity that I don’t write my own novels! Thanks for the feedback and happy reading!
I check and verify all the buy links at the time I create the post but after that I’m not responsible.
