As always, I recommend sampling before you buy! I have not read most of the new releases listed (although I always end up one-clicking a bunch as I prepare these posts LOL).

VS Note: I always like the sense of humor with which she writes.

CRASHING GATES (DUAL REALM #4) by Kyra Dune

VS Note: So I debating whether to add this one because of a dearth of reviews on most of this new-to-me author’s books, and I went to the Look Inside feature. When I realized I was reading on and on, drawn into the world building, wanting to know what would happen next…ok, onto this week’s NR report it went LOL. It’s on my TBR, no idea if I’d like the entire plot, etc., but the sample was intriguing.

It was supposed to be an easy assignment. Retrieve one lone human from the first realm and bring him back to the Council for questioning. Nothing too complicated for Amberstone to handle. Even though this particular human was his sister’s lover and the reason she was arrested and about to be executed. Such things do not matter to a Guardian.
What he didn’t expect was to find two second realm fugitives, both of whom were believed to be dead, alive and living with the humans. And that was only the beginning of his problems.

New Releases in #SciFi and #Fantasy Romance for Wednesday November 8

As always, I recommend sampling before you buy! I have not read most of the new releases listed (although I always end up one-clicking a bunch as I prepare these posts LOL).

They are intended as accompaniments to Dark Planet Warriors, and may contain the occasional spoiler. Book 1 features Arin and Rykal, our protagonists from Forged in Shadow. It’s set after Brilliant Starlight (Book 8), when the Kordolians have returned to Earth.

Although it’s a spinoff, it isn’t the spinoff. That’s coming soon.

Because those lethal alien dinosaurs I’m so afraid of?

There’s no way I’m going to be the kind of girl who falls for her kidnapper.
But he’s making it hard for me to resist. Not only is he huge and super confident, he’s also drop-dead gorgeous, with his stripes and his fangs and his golden hair that shines with an inner light.

I think we’re going to his cave. Judging from the enticingly large tent he’s pitching in his loincloth, I think he has plans for when we get there.
And I think they involve me becoming his mate.

We’ll just see about that. Because while he does turn me into a hot mush on the inside, I also want to go home.

VS Note: Somehow I got behind on Ruby’s releases so I have two from her. This one was out on the 14th and Orion was the 15th, per Amazon. Hmmm. Not that I’m complaining – I LOVE her books.

Angela left her parents’ lavender farm with dreams of becoming a professional dog trainer. Getting kidnapped by slavers from outer space was not part of the plan.

Fortunately, Angela and a few dozen other women were rescued by Star Guardians. She isn’t quite sure how she’s going to get back to Earth, but these Star Guardians aren’t looking too shabby, especially a hunky one named Treyjon. ALL SYSTEMS RED by Martha Wells

VS Note: Hard scifi so no romance (that I know of) but I read an excerpt and was highly intrigued so I one clicked. The ‘murderbot’s’ POV was fascinating in the excerpt I saw! I liked ‘his’ sense of humor and sarcasm.

In a corporate-dominated spacefaring future, planetary missions must be approved and supplied by the Company. Exploratory teams are accompanied by Company-supplied security androids, for their own safety.

But in a society where contracts are awarded to the lowest bidder, safety isn’t a primary concern.

On a distant planet, a team of scientists are conducting surface tests, shadowed by their Company-supplied ‘droid — a self-aware SecUnit that has hacked its own governor module, and refers to itself (though never out loud) as “Murderbot.” Scornful of humans, all it really wants is to be left alone long enough to figure out who it is.

But when a neighboring mission goes dark, it’s up to the scientists and their Murderbot to get to the truth.

AMERICAN DEMON HUNTERS: SACRIFICE by Lindsay Buroker and others

VS Note: OK this is horror and not romance but got good reviews if one enjoys that type of thing, altho one reviewer does warn “Not for the faint of heart!”. I can’t read horror any more – my imagination is too vivid and then I can’t sleep.
