From a WIP in process short story, set in Ancient Egypt:
Now or NEVER.
Senebkai felt paralyzed, as if his feet had become encased in the stone courtyard. Taking a deep breath, he shoved away from the wall and stepped out from the sheltering columns.
“Wait!” The word came out strangled. He cleared his throat and shouted, “Wait, there is one more petition to be heard by Pharaoh.”

Nice tension. I’m ready to hear the petition!
Maybe I’ll offer up the petition next week! Thanks!
A very gripping six! I loved this (once again). Looking forward to next week. Have a great day! 🙂
Thank you very much! I’ll probably post from this WIP for a few weeks.
Sounds like a tense moment!
Well he’s spent hours waiting and he’s got to get that request in before Pharaoh leaves so, yes, makes ME tense anyway! LOL. Thanks for the comment!
That would be terrifying to go before Pharoah!
Especially since he’s essentially crashing the audience session without an invitation! Thanks for the comment!
Very nice! I love the Egyptian period. Can’t wait til you finish.
I always count on you since we so enjoy Ancient Egypt together! Thanks!
Uh-oh. What does he want? And what will be the penalty?
If I keep going on this story with the excerpts, ALL will be revealed, as they say. Can’t decide if this will stay a short story or what.
Wow, I can really feel his angst. Great six here!
Really appreciate your comment, was going for the tension here so I’m glad it comes through.
Nice, nice, nice! I really like this snippet. I can feel his fear and want to know the cause.
Thank you, much appreciated! I’ll probably post what comes next for the upcoming sixsentence.
I like ancient cultures.
Me too, so rich in possibilities! Thanks for stopping by today!
Great six, Veronica! Senebkai is a really cool name. 🙂 Happy Sunday!
Thank you! I call him Kai in most of the story but you have to be formal when meeting Pharaoh, right?
Six sentences are never enough. LOL Nice six! Makes me want to keep reading
Thank you! I’ll probably keep going with this one next week.
I love anything Egypt. Well written too
Nice six, Veronica 🙂 The Egyptian period is so fascinating!
Sounds like Senebkai’s about to drop a bomb–and not one he looks forward to dropping! Great six! Thanks for sharing.
Jayel & Keri, thank you so much for the comments! I’m glad to find fell Ancient Egypt fans!
Nice tension! Sounds intriguing.
Oooh. Love the tension!
Ooh, I’ll be back to hear about this petition next week!
