So what was the most unusual gift you ever received at the holidays?
The one I’m thinking of was unusual – for years I had said I wished there was a poster of the scene at the very end of Return of the Jedi – the moment (blink and you miss it) where all the main characters are neatly lined up, clapping along with the Ewok music (which I also love), and happy after all the trials and tribulations and death stars…so this particular year (a long time ago in a galaxy far far away…) my younger daughter had drawn the scene for me and framed it! I kept it over my desk for a long time….
What a cool present for you to receive! I love it! I can’t really think of a strange gift I received at Christmas…maybe an ant farm but I loved it so much. I guess I will call it unique and not strange. Happy Holidays and Happy Blog Hopping, Veronica!
Your daughter is very creative. My parents gave me my first appliance when I was 8. I milkshake machine so if I was good Mommy could make me one at home.

You have a very talented daughter. I hate to admit it, but I don’t think I have ever watched Return of the Jedi. Or at least not since I was very young.
Have a happy holiday season.

One year I got a box from my mother. It was pretty and had a second layer of wrapping on it that I thought I’d leave. Turns out there was a ring inside.
My Aunt always used to give me and my sister the collectible holiday barbies. We were never allowed to play with them, now they sit in our building and collect dust. :p

Wow.. That’s one heck of a picture. 🙂 I wish I had those sort of drawing abilities. Just a couple of years ago, I received these loud, bright pink, glittery socks with dancing ponies all over them. I was all *about* My Little Pony.. about 25 years ago. Having reached the age of 30, I was kind of at a loss as to why those particular socks. (They did go to use however, just not in the way the giver probably intended. I ended up using them to dry dishes after I washed the sparkly gunk off)
Your daughter is VERY talented 🙂 That is a very nicely drawn picture.
So what was the most unusual gift you ever received at the holidays?
Blank note 3 ring binder paper for me to start writing (My Grandmother told me the reason she gave that to me was because I have a talented mind that I should start writing. I was 10 at the time. No I never picked up the talent but I do love telling stories that come off the top of my head for my daughters.)
Happy Holidays

That is a fantastic drawing, your daughter is very talented. As for unusual, I can’t think of anything off hand but one year my mom bought me vinyl albums(i am so dating myself) but the music was so not my taste. I think she was trying to tell me she didn’t like mine LOL.

I don’t recall getting a strange gift, but about 5 years ago I gave my dad a box of macaroni and cheese mix that he still has to this day.
As a teen learning to cook one of my most often prepared items was mac’n’cheese. He made several jokes about it during those years and was tickled upon opening the gag gift.
I’m sure I’ve gotten a bad gift at some point but I can’t think of anything right now.

Wow, how neat. It shows that she really thought about what would mean the most to you. My weirdest gift was a meat grinder/sausage maker. My mother overheard a conversation about meat and thought I was attempting to make my own. She didn’t understand the reference of meat market.

I got this weird birdhouse container box thing… Its cute but i don’t know what the hell it is… I have had it for 10 years now and keep pens and random things in it like hair twists, screws, and coins lol.

I like weird and strange gifts, so I don’t know what I would consider weird…LOL
But I do love when my daughter gives me homemade gifts. A few years ago we were very tight on money, so she made me a book mark from scraps around the house. It was awesome.
Merry Christmas.

The most unusual gift I ever got, were the Free with Purchase books that came with the Who Knew? books that were popular on tv a couple of years ago. What killed me, was that the books clearly stated “bonus” book. I didn’t even get the Who Knew? main book, just the freebies. The bonus? The person who gave them to me acted like it was big deal and I should be thrilled to get them. *sigh*
Merry Christmas and thanks for the blog stop.

For me it was hangers. I was sixteen and couldn’t believe it.
One year my mil and sil gave me a two piece outfit that was just awful. I kept it hidden in my closet for a year then it went to the clothing recycle bin. They did it to be mean, they snickered as I opened it.

This is not an entry. Sea, you should have regifted one piece back to each of them and told them it was so much more their style and you could not bear for them not to have it.
Happy Holidays, thanks for the chance to win.

I think that’s the best present ever. Those made from the heart. 🙂 I haven’t had a strange present that I can remember, but the ones my kids make are the most special. Thanks for the giveaway.

When I was around ten my best friends family got me a Japanese style umbrella. It was a really odd thing to get a kid that age, especially considering that I didn’t have any special interest in Japan or umbrellas.
JYL22075 at gmail dot com
That’s a great gift!!! I think the weirdest I got was a bug catching kit.

I dont think ive received an unusual one. Great hop & awesome giveaway! Thank you!! Happy holidays to you all! Best wishes and many blessings!
shadowluvs2read(at)gmail(dot)com
Thanks for being on the hop & the giveaway. The only thing I can think of is that when my daughter was in kindergarten the school did a thing where you sent money with the kids and they could shop at the school store for family or relatives with money you sent ($1-5) for each person. My daughter really wanted a sort of electronic snow globe thing, for herself, so she gave it to me. She knew I would let her have it. Eventually she outgrew it and now it is mine. Happy Holidays.
i haven’t really got any but my grandmother did buy me underwear once when i was like in my twenty’s which i thought was weird

I love the picture! 🙂 She did a fabulous job!
The most unusual gift that I have ever received is probably a wax figurine, like Santa Claus. I don’t even remember what age it was, but I was very young. I, of course, liked it at the time, but now I find it funny.
I hope you and your family have a happy holiday season, Veronica! 🙂
Thank you for the awesome giveaway.

As the daughter in question, I feel I should clarify that I traced it out of the ROTJ coloring book lo those many moons ago…:)
Ah, the secret is revealed LOL!
