I’ve been searching for my mate. For my destiny. For the female who is somewhere on Tajss…Khabri – The Zmaj race was dying when humans crashed landed on our planet. Since the moment their coming was revealed to the Order, I’ve known that one of the females is my mate. My treasure. All I want is her and the beautiful, perfect babies we will have together. When at long last I find her, there can be no mistaking our connection. My dragon roars with possessive need and the claim is made. Except she has other ideas. She doesn’t believe in destiny and says she isn’t interested in making babies with me. The Invaders are threatening all of Tajss, thrusting her peoples into war. I must survive these battles if I am to have a chance at winning the one that matters. The war for Anna’s heart.
Anna – My village has been overrun by four-armed invaders and we’ve all been forced to flee towards the city.
We’re struggling to survive pursuit over the grueling desert sands of Tajss when a crazy, overly muscled, overly sexy, and overly direct alien dragon-man shows up and tells me I’m his fated mate and we’re going to make beautiful babies. I don’t think so. Except he is sexy. And kind. And protective. And he might be the only hope I have of living. Can I put my past beliefs behind me, navigate a war and deal with losing my heart all at the same time?

Eve is quick to suspect that the victim’s spouse—resentful over his wife’s affair and poised to inherit her fortune—would have happily paid an assassin to do his dirty work. Roarke is just as quick to warn her that if Lorcan Cobbe is the hitman, she needs to be careful. Law enforcement agencies worldwide have pursued this cold-hearted killer for years, to no avail. And his lazy smirk when he looked Roarke’s way indicates that he will target anyone who matters to Roarke…and is confident he’ll get away with it.
Eve is desperate to protect Roarke. Roarke is desperate to protect Eve. And together, they’re determined to find Cobbe before he finds them—even if it takes them across the Atlantic, far outside Eve’s usual jurisdiction.

Things have gone from bad to far, far worse since I was abducted from Earth and then thrown in the dungeon. VS Note: Not a romance. Super heroes. Reviews indicate it’s best to have read book one first, THE NOBODY PEOPLE.
Fahima Deeb changed everything seven years ago when she triggered the Pulse, imbuing millions of people with otherworldly gifts like flight, telekinesis, or superhuman strength. She thought that would herald the end of the hostilities between those with abilities and those without, but it instead highlighted a new problem: There is someone behind the scenes, able to influence and manipulate these newly empowered people into committing horrible acts against their will. Worse still, that shadowy figure is wearing the face of Fahima’s oldest friend, Patrick Davenport. Fahima is horror-struck when she realizes that Patrick has built an army entirely under his control to wipe out all who oppose him.
With nowhere to turn and few she can trust, Fahima must rely on uncertain allies: Carrie Norris, whose illusion of a normal life vanishes at Fahima’s reappearance. Clay Weaver, a retired soldier fighting to keep his husband and son safe—and to keep Patrick from taking over his mind. And, finally, Emmeline Hirsch, adrift and untethered from her ability to travel through time. Together, they might be able to topple Patrick’s shadowy regime . . . though it may spell destruction for the entire world.

A planet at war. Two alphas forced into a political marriage. Attraction that defies all reason and logic… Or does it?
The Kingdom of Pelugia and the Republic of Kadar have been at war for decades. Peace isn’t popular, but the planet can’t survive without it. Forced to marry an enemy prince for the sake of peace, Senator Royce Cleghorn doesn’t like his husband, his alpha scent, or his damned pretty blue eyes. More than anything, Royce hates what Haydn makes him become: a primitive alpha cliché who’ll do anything to mark his territory, even if that territory is his alpha husband. Royce likes omegas; he isn’t into alphas, no matter how pretty their eyes are. It’s just a weird territorial instinct. It has to be.
Prince Haydn has always tried to be the perfect alpha his father wants him to be. He’s the heir to the throne. He’s a war general. He isn’t supposed to bare his throat to an enemy alpha—and it isn’t supposed to feel so good. Everyone knows a marriage between two alphas is a recipe for disaster. He isn’t supposed to crave his husband—their marriage is just a political arrangement, nothing more. But when disaster strikes and loyalties are tested, which bond will be the strongest: their marriage, or their allegiances?
VS Note: Not a romance but a scifi release of note. Sounded good to me, put it on my TBR List.

Her plan: to buy, beg, or lie her way out of corporate indenture and find a cure. When her crew salvages a genocidal weapon from a ravaged starship above a dead colony, Ash uncovers a conspiracy of corporate intrigue and betrayal that threatens to turn her into a living weapon.
VS Note: Sounded good to me, not a romance…loved the plot elements. Indiana Jones-ish but with a woman as the lead. On my TBR List.

They jointly inherit his house, its contents, and the mystery of his murder. Could the Professor have been killed for one of his experiments? And if so, what if someone’s still looking for it?
VS Note: I one clicked this one because I was reading the sample and found the situation the author set up was quite compelling in various ways and then I was still thinking about it later and decided to move it up on the TBR List.

It should have been simple…Work together, find the cure. Save our people. Except nothing with these aliens is simple. Especially not an alien like him: Dr. Avrell Dracarion. Rude. Arrogant. Ripped. He treats me like a child, but he certainly doesn’t look at me like one. Beneath those filed down fangs and carefully manicured claws, there’s a beast lurking, waiting to claim me as his mate. I won’t be claimed by anyone, least of all a jerk like him.
I work security. I like big weapons and I’m not afraid of a fight. That was until I was assigned to a rescue op. Now I need rescuing. After aliens attacked my camp, I gave chase. Now I’m lost and alone, wandering the desert. But then I find an alien, big, brutal, and made of fire and chained to the ground and looking like he’s ready to die. I’m tempted to leave him—I know his kind and I don’t trust them—but to survive, I need help. I need to find a way to fuel his hunger to live. From the way he looks at me, maybe he’s not totally dead inside.
VS Note: A re-release…

What was supposed to be a peaceful mission to find alien life goes horribly wrong when our ship crashes on an unknown planet. As I emerge from the wreckage with the few other survivors, three things become clear.
1. This wasn’t a peaceful mission at all. The women on board were meant to be sold for alien tech. 2. There’s no way we’re getting off this planet. 3. Our odds of survival are laughably low. When I’m accidentally separated from the other women, my chances of survival drop to zero. That is, until I fall—literally—into the lap of a gorgeous alien warrior with metallic blue skin and cat-like eyes. I don’t know who this man is, and I can’t even ask him since we don’t speak the same language. I don’t know why my body craves his touch, or why something undeniable draws me toward him. But I do know this: he’s the best shot I have at finding a way back home. The only problem is, the more time I spend with him, the less certain I am that I want to leave.

One bad-ass witch, three gorgeous warriors, and a demented hag trying to kill us all. Broken. Damaged. Scarred.

Though the scars she inflicted marred my skin, the true damage she caused was hidden just beneath the surface. The old Stella Winters is dead, and she’s never coming back. They think that I’m like them. That there’s warrior magic in my blood.
But I know the truth, something sinister is lurking inside of me, waiting for it’s chance to escape. These warriors have no idea what kind of monster they’ve allowed into their home. Despite how badly I want to be good for the three gorgeous men who saved my life, I’m the villain in this story.
Anastasia “Stacey” Rourke is done trying to be perfect. She’s tall and curvy, with big hair and an even bigger laugh, and after a lifetime of trying to fit in with her family and their friends, she’s finally done. Sacrificing every ounce of happiness for something that’s impossible to achieve is a stupid way to live, and she’s done putting everyone before herself. In an effort to change her life, and finally start loving her imperfections, she applies for a job at Bear Lake. Suddenly, everything in her life is perfectly imperfect…except for the fact that Mr. Perfect, Lael Rivers, wants to be her friend.
Grizzly bear shifter, Lael Rivers, is tired of being alone. He’s been told he’s the perfect man more times than he can count, but hearing the lake girls swoon over him got old a long time ago. He knows he’s good looking, but he wants someone to look deeper and love him for what’s on the inside. Sadly, meeting someone like that at the lake is nearly impossible, and since he spends most of his time working, he wonders if he’ll ever meet anyone worth sharing his life with. Until he meets Stacey. Now all he has to do is convince the sexy, stubborn woman to give him a chance.
“You’ve shown about as much aptitude for magic as a human. It’s time to venture out and find your place in this world.”
Three years ago, those had been the damning words that banished Ivy Greene from the only home she’d ever known. She would have been completely alone if not for her friends and their determination to stay together. Unable to contribute magically to the coven, Ivy takes a job at a local garden store. She likes it there, she’s done well, and the view is unBEARably gorgeous. Ivy is beautiful and everything that keeps Uriah up at night, but it’s against the law for humans and shifters to mate. Uriah Tremarc has kept his distance for two years, terrified his love for her will get her killed. In a random twist of fate, he discovers she’s a witch, and now all bets are off. Ivy discovers she’s not as powerless as she’s been told, but the discovery comes with a warning. Someone is coming for her. Ivy only has A Little Green Magic, but she’s found her place in the world, and with Uriah by her side, she’s not about to let her mother’s murderer wreck her happy ever after.
Apparently, I am no one special. Just a nameless woman who washed ashore with no memories. If I’m not important, then why would someone curse me soundless? No sound has ever escaped my lips since that day I was found. I need answers. I know that the truth is being kept from me by those who torture me for the one thing I don’t know, my name. What I hadn’t expected was four dominating men, who all think they know what’s best for me, forcing their way into my life by magically sealing me to them. Who knew that seeking the truth of who I am could be so complicated.

VS NOTE: In case you missed this backlist title of mine, released earlier this year. I always wanted to write an epidemic novel and after the events of 2020 so far, my Muse insisted I write this one. I enjoyed this colony and the characters so much I’m seriously mulling over writing another book set there:
COLONY UNDER SIEGE: INTERSTELLAR PLAGUE
The blurb: Newly graduated from a prestigious interstellar medical school, Dr. Saffia Mandell has been assigned to the Haven Two colony on the galaxy’s outer rim as the only doctor for some 2000 human residents. She’s counting the days until her five years there is up, trying to adjust to rural living after life in the crowded Inner Sectors and fighting her attraction to Chief Ranger Micah Navonn. She’s dreading the upcoming tourist season when the rich and pampered will descend on the planet for the scenic wonders and novel sports opportunities and no doubt inundate her little clinic but the colony depends on the seasonal income to survive.
As the senior official for his people, the Calinurra, the indigenous inhabitants of Haven Two, Micah enforces the treaty, regulates the tourist permits, patrols the forests and resists his fascination with Dr. Mandell. He never expected to be involved with a human woman and doesn’t want to believe in the concept of a fated mate. He wants to keep his life simple and isn’t ready for any long term commitment. Besides Saffia keeps proclaiming she’ll be leaving when her appointment is up in four and a half years so why should he risk his heart?
Then a ship arrives unexpectedly carrying a very ill little girl and soon the deadly virus is spreading through Haven Two. The colony authorities are desperate to cover up the problem to preserve the all-important tourist season and Saffia and Micah have to work together to battle the outbreak, the local administration and their undeniable feelings for each other.
Can the colony survive? And will Micah and Saffia be able to move past their fears about entanglements to act on the mutual attraction?
An 87K word novel of the far future…
LINKS TO RECENT NEW RELEASES POSTS from Veronica:
“New” is generally plus or minus a week or two. I try to catch up on ones I missed in recent months. And I may mention ‘special items’.
I do NOT cover every single new release in SFR/FantasyR/PNR. I never have. That would be an impossible task for any human! I assemble my list by hand every week based on various informal inputs, and I do curate the list to some extent…
I check and verify all the buy links at the time I create the post but after that I’m not responsible.
