As always, I recommend sampling before you buy! I have not read most of the new releases listed (although I always end up one-clicking a bunch as I prepare these posts LOL).
Jennie: I can’t remember that last time I saw Earth. All I know now is red sand, cruel aliens, and silence. Getting sick from some alien virus damaged my vocal chords, and it’s painful to even say yes when my captors ask if I’m hungry.
I don’t know what my future holds, but I’ve always had a sixth sense about things. That’s why I know when the blue alien with orange hair and black gloves meets my eyes, that my life is about to change. I just don’t know if it’s for better or for worse.
Fenix: The only way I’ve been surviving through the chronic pain of my mutation is the drug, Kixx. I hate what the addiction has done to me, but what I resent the most is that I’ve had to barter with a lowlife Rogastix for my supply.
One day, he shows off his new property–a human female. He makes me a deal to protect her until he can exchange her for a healthy supply of Kixx of which I’ll get a lion’s share. But I’m a Drixonian Warrior somewhere beneath my melted skin and raw nerves. Now matter how badly I need the drug, I won’t let her be sold. I’ll get her to safety, even if it costs me everything.
The paparazzi is hounding me, my fiancé cheated on me, and I’m sick of living up to everyone else’s expectations. Former child star syndrome much? Yeah, I’ve got a chronic diagnosis. Is running away to another planet drastic? Maybe. But I’m ready and couldn’t be happier to sign my name on IEP’s dotted line. Luckily, I land a sweet job as an assistant on Tracarox. They say the place is full of sorcery, but I’m not about to fall for space magic. Or an alien. There’s something strange about my sorcerer boss, Ilzak. Something dark and sensual. I don’t want him, except for when my mind gets all twisted and confused. What is he doing to me? Ilzak isn’t the only alien I’m pulled to. The instinct pulling me toward Prince Aiken Hollander is too strong for me to deny. From the first moment I see him, I want him, body and soul. And as our paths keep crossing, I fall harder and deeper. One alien is using me. The other is my mate. Can I figure out which is real before it’s too late?
On Earth, 12 female college students board a starship for A Year of Interstellar Education. Crashing on a primitive planet inhabited by barbarian aliens was not on their itinerary…There are worse things than being worshipped by a Rakui, right? You know the old saying, ‘No good deed goes unpunished’? Turns out, it’s true. When Alana and I try to rescue our college students from a primitive planet, our plan backfires. Now we’re stranded on UD237 with the girls and Earth Gov has turned us into test subjects, too. And that’s not all. Reyzon, the giant, golden alien who saved my life, says I’m his mate. How can I be the hot barbarian’s mate? I’m a nerdy introvert who’s never even had a real boyfriend. Reyzon tells me he’s a patient male and will wait for me realize what his heart already knows: that we belong together forevermore. I don’t want to disappoint him, but I’d rather study the Rakui culture than settle down and start a family. Until a single kiss that leaves me breathless changes everything.
Drusilla of House Vo went from being an insignificant human to one of the most influential women in the Alliance Empire. The goddess of home has granted her this lofty position in exchange for raining down her wrath on the Empire for their disregard for the gods’ ancient edicts and for abandoning the Lost People. However, Drusilla has veered from the goddess’s true path when she accepted Admiral Jei’s tempting offer and now she finds herself head-to-head with her adoptive mother for power. Kara of House Zu was forced into her position. She never wanted to leave the human fleet and she certainly never wanted to marry Admiral Tir. However, she was forced by the fates and abandoned by humanity. As such, more than anything she wants to make both the Empire and the human government pay for taking away her free will. The only person that stands in her way is her adoptive daughter James. Kara feels confident though that she will be successful, after all, she has the god of peace on her side. Unbeknownst to anyone but the gods themselves, Admiral Jei’s sacrifice has evened the playing field for power and now it’s anyone’s guess who will be the first human Empress of the Alliance Empire. The Alliance Series is set in a fictional future where humans are small-time players in the big-time galaxy. There are no heroes or women being rescued; instead, readers are led through an intricate maze of alien courting customs, duplicitous strict religious codes, vicious culture shock, and uncomfortable compromises. Although you can jump in on the Renascence Alliance Series at any time, it’s highly recommended you read Married to the Alien Doctor, Renascence Book 2 and/or The Ward of House Rega, Renascence Alliance Series Book 7, before reading The Disciple of the Alien Goddess of Home, Renascence Alliance Series Book 8.
VS Note: Not a romance…a scifi release of note.

The best part about being an outcast is that rejection stopped bothering me a long time ago.
Everyone in my culture knows emotions are dangerous. In Old Europe we learn how to suppress romantic feelings and follow the rules of no commitment. Now that I’m working in the Northlands, I’m preparing Nmen for a life in France, teaching them how to flirt, have sex, and move on. The part that bothers me is watching the men practice their flirting skills on my fellow instructor, Sparrow. Why do I feel like the universe is taunting me by putting Sparrow in my path? Explaining to the Nmen that jealousy is useless and stupid makes me feel like a hypocrite because seeing them come on to her makes me a little crazy myself. Not that I would ever show her or admit it, of course.

VS Note: This is hard scifi not romance although there are romantic elements so I can’t say if there’s a HFN or HEA. A release of note…

VS Note: I’ve never heard of this author and couldn’t find any past reviews. I liked the ‘voice’ of the Look Inside sample and the heroine but wow, this needs editing for misuse of apostrophes IMHO. I had to stop reading because it was annoying and distracting to me. Your Mileage May Vary.

Proof of how wrong they were is laying in his Medical Bay and it’s his job to save her. When he touches her, his life turns upside down and his mission suddenly includes figuring out why everything inside him insists she’s his mate. Fate has given me three of the hottest warriors I could’ve imagined. Even though they’ve agreed to share me, I don’t want to spend my time bouncing from bed to bed. I want us to be a unit. A family. Our marks haven’t even completed. Convincing my mates to share was hard enough. But the rest of the Dilarians are not thrilled with the startling new arrangement either. Turmoil and discord thrum through the settlement. They’ve lost their home planet and almost all their people, now they must conform to a new destiny—one that might mean even more mates sharing. I’m determined to show everyone that love doesn’t follow rules. I know I won’t be complete without all three of my warriors, together. And neither will our mating marks.

VS Note: This is her second murder mystery/suspense set in New Zealand. I’ve had it pre-ordered so I thought I’d mention it, even though it isn’t SFR or PNR. I enjoyed the first one, which was definitely a change of pace from her other books. Her Psy/Changeling Series is still my favorite though…
My mother vanished ten years ago. So did a quarter of a million dollars in cash. Thief. Bitch. Criminal. Now, she’s back.

VS note: I’m thrilled to see a new series from Jeffe, love her fantasy worlds…and I like her heroine’s name too LOL. Can’t wait to read the book!

Find out who killed her beloved grandmother, teach her BFF the finer points of spellcasting before she blows up the world, and figure out how serious her relationship with the Adonis living in her basement really is. If it’s heading in the direction she’s hoping for, she can die happy. Though, admittedly, she’d rather not. Die. Happy or otherwise. None of that will matter, however, if she can’t figure out how to foil the supernatural assassin who’s been sent for her. Until then, it’s business—and hopefully romance—as usual. Now if she can only figure out how to tame a lacuna wolf.

I was just a regular college student, working double shifts at the diner to pay for classes, and hoping I could help my injured brother find his place in the world. Then the witches came. By the end of the semester, they claim they’ll have me wielding my powers to uncover ancient secrets, and maybe even to help the people I love. But before I have a chance to kindle that spark, a wolf-shifter guardian stalks straight up to me on the night of the Choosing Ceremony and tells me I’m coming with him. Luke is the epitome of tall, dark and handsome. He’s determined to protect me. And he swears I’m his mate.
Excuse me, what? No one told me about this part. Now, I’m wrapped up in some ancient contract I never agreed to. And the worst part is, the restless, rugged shifter is making me start to question if I would walk away even if I could. I might fight my passions, but I’ll never make it three nights in his bed without surrendering. And if I surrender to Luke, I’ll have to abandon Primrose Academy forever, along with my new friends, my magic training, and all hope of helping my brother. As if that choice isn’t hard enough, there’s something else stalking the school. Something even more dangerous than a wolf.
No one was ever born less suited to ruling than Rissa, the thorn of the seelie realm—a half-fae so wild she’s spent the better part of a hundred years in the woods. For all her flaws, she’s the last of the high court bloodline, and the southern king seems to think that’s reason enough to slap a crown on her feathered head. He needs her to unify the seelie forces. She needs him to forget about that nonsense. In an effort to aid her people without condemning herself to a lifetime of misery, she sets off on a journey to find the one person with a stronger claim to the throne than hers: the cursed prince. Sealed in the mountains of the Wilderness, under many spells, the heir of the first seelie queen is the only royal strong enough to protect the fae lands from their immortal invaders. Surviving the untamed tribes and awakening a thousand-year-old prince seem a lot easier than ruling an entire kingdom where everyone hates her very nature. And her choices won’t come without consequences.
VS Note: The blurb for book 1 states there’s a paranormal twist.

A human meets a fox shifter. There are a lot of lies in that sentence. Pip is obsessed with boxing. The bouncing and striking calls to his inner fox. When Celeste gives him a ringside ticket to the light heavyweight championship match, Pip is over the moon. Seeing his favorite boxer, Savage Holiday, up close is like a dream come true. Then Savage looks his way and Pip discovers what really drives his passion for the sport. Turns out, it has nothing to do with boxing at all. Savage never notices anyone when he’s in the zone. Adrenaline always keeps him focused on winning and nothing else. There’s something about Pip’s eyes, though. They’re almost unnatural. Savage’s attention is caught. He can’t explain the draw, but Savage can’t stay away. Pip is odd and playful. He’s nothing like the rough and tumble crowd Savage normally runs with. He makes Savage want to risk everything. It’s a race to see which of their secrets ruins them first. The Hellish Clan is back as—once again—Celeste has paired an unlikely couple. The delicate situation needs to be handled as tactfully as possible. Except Jonathan and Celeste are in charge. That means things are handled as dramatically as possible. Now, let’s see if Savage can handle it.

What has Joanna Wilcox gotten herself into? She needed an extra hand to fix some broken fences on her alpaca farm, and her cousin sent someone over to help. Now she can’t seem to take her eyes off that “someone” — those capable hands, those ice-blue eyes…not to mention the way he fills out his jeans. But when he won’t take payment for the work, she finds herself offering the next best thing: a home-cooked meal. The Wilcox clan took Randall in when a lightning strike awakened his power, and he plans to repay their kindness by living a quiet life…which means not getting involved with a Wilcox witch. But Joanna’s offer of a hot meal isn’t the only thing making his mouth water. One kiss ignites the need they’ve both been trying to ignore, but their relationship is barely off the ground when Randall disappears — and Joanna suspects it’s more than a case of cold feet. It’s a secret that proves lightning does, indeed, strike twice….Note: This novel takes place approximately three months after the end of A Wheeler Park Christmas. It’s the sixth book in the series but can stand on its own.

As fiction crashes into reality, the lines blur when the hero from the pages of Sage Matthews’ bestselling steamy romance novel, Roark Samuels, emerges to save her from the brink of death. Unbelievably, Sage and Roark come face-to-face with the opportunity to explore their deepest desires by creating their own sinful imaginings but also giving themselves a chance to write their own happily ever after. Can the Hero truly save his Creator, or will this turn into a tragedy instead of the happy ending for their own best seller?
I didn’t even like the man whose life I saved. Kardri Vangrarre is my warlord; I serve as a captain in his army—the Leopard Army. I respect him, and even admire him, but I don’t like him. At all. He’s vain, arrogant, and way too public with his abundant love life. In fact, he was right in the middle of one of his freaky, public orgies when we were attacked. I acted purely on instinct when I pushed him out of the way. I had no idea that I’d get hit instead, or that the green fireball would kill me. The Leopard Lord didn’t have to save my life just because I saved his, but that’s what he did. He used the Leopard Soul—a magical fae amulet—to give me a piece of his soul, and then his Goddess blessed me with an immortal fae body. And it’s not just my body that’s changed. I’m straight, I love the ladies. Or at least, I did. Now, I can’t stop staring at Kardri, wondering what it would feel like to kiss him and run my hands over that beautiful raven skin. And he won’t stop trying to seduce me, using his vast experience like a weapon. I feel like I’m on the losing side of a war. But that’s just my personal problems. The greater issue is the new weapon the Farungal attacked us with, and how they created it. We need to focus on that but the more time I spend with Kardri, the more I start to think that losing one war might be just the thing we need to win the other. That is, if I can survive the Leopard Lord’s embrace.
Cole Barton is a sentry, living alone at the edge of a lake, keeping away all who would run afoul of the monster that lurks beneath its depths. At least, he keeps all away until Jude Drake arrives and refuses to be run off. The sexy, powerful, gold dragon shifter is more than a match for his own giant beast, and she seems intent on uncovering the secrets he wants to keep hidden. Even more unsettling, the lake monster is calling her, wanting to use her to break free from the sorcery that imprisons him. Cole would never allow his old leader to do that to any woman, but he’s particularly insistent that Jude not fall prey to the monster’s trap. Something about the gold dragon calls to Cole’s soul. The lake monster can’t have her. Cole will see to it, even if he has to deny his own heart and push Jude away.
Never again will he lose anyone he cares about to the monster.
Jude Drake knows why her cousin keeps sending her off to settle trouble around the country. Two gold dragons are too many for a single territory. Jude wants to settle down, though. She’s tired of her nomadic life, tired of cleaning up problems she had no part in making. She needs her own ground to rule, and with this lake territory she’s come to, she thinks she might have found it. The ground speaks to her, and she can see herself putting this broken clan back together. This is where she belongs, she’s sure of it—on this lakeshore, with this surly cabin rental manager.
Now if only she could convince the man and the land to give up their secrets and let her make her place here, she’s sure she could be happy.

Flambeau Illume has a job to do. Getting drafted into a paranormal MASH unit during a war between the gods was life-changing to say the least. And it hasn’t left me with much of a personal life. Case in point: deciding what to buy Medusa for her baby shower should have been my only “me time” task for the week. But when my hot-as-Hades ex-boyfriend storms back into my life dragging a wounded, half-mad dragon shifter, things get complicated. The dragon may be the key to ending the war—if I can heal her and keep her hidden. To do it, I’ll need the help of both my current guy and my ex—because nothing says love like a covert operation. But I can’t just let her die or fall into enemy hands. Even if keeping a lid on her secret might force me to reveal mine. Either way, there’s no going back. This time, I have no choice but to change the world—or die trying.

But as her dormant magic emerges, she can no longer ignore her immortal mate. Trusting him will make her a target in a war that has lasted for millennia and unearth a long-buried family secret, concealing the betrayal of a former life. As she faces an ancient adversary set on her destruction, will her hopes burn to the ground, or will she discover that love hath no fury like a dragon scorned?
Five broken alphas. One lost wolf. A fate she never expected. Silver Falls University. There was no reason for a female bitten wolf like myself to be here. More so, there was no reason that someone who grew up as poor as I did, in an overcrowded packhouse in the South Side of Chicago, should be making her way up north to one of the most prestigious supernatural universities in the country. I truly had no idea what to expect. Something that was my own fault. I didn’t exactly have a lot of experience with anyone or anything. ‘Sheltered’ was an understatement, except to the darkness that came with struggling to survive cruel bullying and an incurable loneliness that had formed the woman I was today. The place I had grown up never felt like home. No one had ever felt like home. Well, until I met a man on the way to campus. A man that had me feeling so completely comfortable, yet confused and overwhelmed. There had to be something wrong with me, right? This wasn’t normal. Then again, I should have realized that nothing about my life moving forward would be normal. I just didn’t realize how much was in store for me.
I work for the Order of Magica, the supernatural version of the FBI. Sounds fun, right? Except I spend my days chained to my desk, writing reports, and wishing that I was out solving crimes. Well, be careful what you wish for.
When my best friend is abducted, my life in Chicago turns upside down. I’ll do anything to get her back—even work with Damian Malek, a wanted criminal, notorious crime lord, and dangerous fallen angel. He’s hot, lethal, and he’s the only one who can help me master my dangerous powers. I don’t want anyone to know about my magic, but I have no choice if I want to save my friend. Here’s the catch: if the Order finds out that I’m working with Damian, I’ll get canned. Maybe even be hunted for what I am. But if I don’t give him what he wants, he’ll reveal my secret to the world.
Zasha comes from a family of cage fighters. There was no time for playing with dolls or painting her nails … just learning how to survive in the ring. When four men attack her, she’s ready for them. Until they break the rules … and use dark magic against her. They transform her into a wolf. A beast. Violating her very nature. The Pound is an underground fighting arena, where wolves are pitted against each other to delight the whims of the perverse elite.
It’s where wolves are sent to fight—and to die. Will Zasha survive long enough to secure her revenge? And could the curse meant to destroy her be what ultimately saves her?
My wolf is highly unstable. Nearly feral. I can’t be trusted around civilians. Certainly not with the lovely kindergarten teacher whose scent drives me wild. But she needs a fake boyfriend for a weekend wedding trip. A big guy to intimidate her ex. How can I refuse? I won’t be directly disobeying an order, because it won’t be a real date. It will be a nice, clean mission. We’ll have separate rooms. I’ll keep my wolf on a tight leash. And no matter how much I want to, I will not mark and claim the sweet human as mine.
Her husband might be dead, but her problems are far from over…Lizzie Grace had hoped that Clayton’s death would bring some normality back into her life. But not only does her father remain intent on interfering now that he knows she can manipulate wild magic, but the High Witch Council has sent in an investigator to uncover her part in Clayton’s murder. But a bigger threat has arrived on the reservation. One that wears flesh and blood, and is intent on revenge. And it’ll kill anyone who gets in its way.
VS: We finished my Badari Backlist and now I’m going to do my Gods of Egypt paranormal romance backlist. I got the rights back to WARRIOR OF THE NILE and was hoping to list it as a re-release but our favorite huge ebook seller is dragging its feet on listing the darn book. Sigh. So anyway, my first ever published book was the novella PRIESTESS OF THE NILE, which Carina Press bought from their slush pile. I had the flash of insight that Sobek the Crocodile God was a shifter and so he could fall in love with a human woman. When I got the rights back last year, I got a new cover and re-released it. I LOVED my Harlequin/Carina cover but no longer have the rights to use it. But I really like the series look Fiona Jayde has established for my covers nowadays.
I keep a statue of Sobek on my writing desk – he’s my unofficial lucky charm.
PRIESTESS OF THE NILE
Drawn to his abandoned temple on the banks of the Nile by an enchanting song, Sobek the Crocodile god is even more captivated by the sight of the singer herself. Appearing to her as a man, he learns she is Merys, a descendant of his last priestess. Though filled with lust, Sobek believes Merys deserves to be more than just his mistress. But the rules that govern the Egyptian pantheon forbid anything beyond a physical joining of a Great One and a human.
Merys is attracted to the handsome stranger, who arouses passions in her that no man ever has. But with no dowry and no hope of ever leaving her village, she dares not dream of the future—or love.
Sobek takes every opportunity to visit Merys, taxing his resolve to leave her pure. And when he saves her life, their mutual desire must be sated. But can a love between a human and an immortal survive the ultimate test of the gods?
HQN does retain the rights to the audiobook.
LINKS TO RECENT NEW RELEASES POSTS from Veronica:
“New” is generally plus or minus a week or two. I try to catch up on ones I missed in recent months. And I may mention ‘special items’.
I do NOT cover every single new release in SFR/FantasyR/PNR. I never have. That would be an impossible task for any human! I assemble my list by hand every week based on various informal inputs, and I do curate the list to some extent…
Some authors aren’t in KU but still don’t list books with Apple or other platforms. This report is very time consuming to prepare so I’ve always had to limit myself and cannot go and look up every book on all the platforms. If an author gives me their other buy links, I include them here but generally I develop the post on my own, not from author-supplied information. I curate and prepare this post individually every week to help connect readers/books/authors and I have to be very careful not to give it so much time as an activity that I don’t write my own novels! Thanks for the feedback and happy reading!
I check and verify all the buy links at the time I create the post but after that I’m not responsible.
