Sharing excerpts from my new release, JAMOKAN: A BADARI WARRIORS SCIFI ROMANCE NOVEL. I’ve jumped ahead in time from last week to inbtroduce the heroine. The goddess told Jamokan previously that the woman is a prisoner of the Khagrish.

The excerpt:

She knew she was dreaming but Rosemari preferred the peaceful false reality to what was actually going on. Sketching pad in hand, she sat on a giant boulder in the middle of a beautiful glade.  The battered notebook where she loved to draw was a familiar, reassuring  note in the world currently gone mad and bleak.

She smoothed the old fashioned paper with her hand, admiring the strokes she’d made so far on this new work of art. Disquieting thoughts flitted through her mind. Where did I get this? When the Khagrish released me from stasis I had nothing but my clothes, which the lab techs then took. Shaking her head, she banished the intrusion of reality. Ah well, the joy of a dream.

The sun was shining, flowers were blooming, birds were singing…and best of all there was no sign of the cruel alien scientists who’d kidnapped her and so many other people. She had company in the meadow, the nine other women who’d been selected for this phase of the experiment.

Inspired by their presence, she allowed her pencil to fly over the blank page. She didn’t have much time to capture the faces of her companions. Already three of the women were strolling toward the shade of the giant trees bordering the space on all sides. Arm in arm, they were leaving.

Right, three died from the first procedure…

JAMOKAN: A BADARI WARRIORS SCIFI ROMANCE NOVEL (SECTORS NEW ALLIES SERIES BOOK 13)

The story: Badari Alpha Jamokan and his pack are growing discontented in the sanctuary valley, tired of coming in second place to the pushy new South Seas pack when it comes to assignments and everything else. On top of the discord within his pack, Jamokan is distracted by the search for the right woman to be a proper Alpha’s mate to partner with him in combat and in everyday life. Even the Badari goddess is warning him in visions that he and his pack are on the wrong path for a happy future. In desperation, he receives permission to take his entire pack north to the mountains for a two week hunting expedition, where he hopes to use the time and rugged surroundings to settle the soldiers down and restore order and discipline.

And figure out his own future.

When his men unexpectedly locate a hidden Khagrish lab, he goes to investigate and see if there are humans to be rescued. Little does he suspect he’ll be called upon to break one of the highest commandments of the Badari packs and bring a new disaster to those who look to him for leadership.

Before she became a Khagrish prisoner, Rosemari Parcher was a hydroponics technician on a gritty colony world, who unexpectedly won a planetwide contest. Tapped to receive her heart’s desire and move to a totally different life in the luxurious Inner Sectors, her life had become a happy dream. Kidnapped in space by enemy aliens and given to the Khagrish, she and other humans are the unwilling subjects of a bizarre medical experiment where a quick death seems to be her only hope. Rescued by Jamokan and his pack, she finds herself deeply attracted to the Alpha but the devious Khagrish aren’t through with Rosemari or the experiment.

  1. It seems that even in her dreams, she’s aware of her harsh reality. Great introduction to Rosemari!

  2. I think Rosemari’s self-preservation instincts keep her tuned into what is real and what is not. Even sleeping/dreaming she’s alert to reality on some level. Like sleeping with one eye open, maybe? Great introduction to her!

  3. The thing about dreams is they make sense while you’re dreaming but when you wake up they seem crazy. Wonder how she’s going to view this dream after she wakes up.
