VS Note: A re-release of Michelle’s story for the Pets in Space 5 anthology, which is no longer available. I was so excited she wrote a novella revisiting Rose, Dav and Sazo from the first book in the series, DARK HORSE, which is one of my all time favorites.

APOKALYPSIS SIX by Kate Morris
VS Note: I one clicked. Book two in the series is one of my favorite dystopian romances, which has been well done. I’m enjoying the rest of the series too of course, but that one is my favorite. Sometimes she gets a bit cliffhanger-y by the way.
Rescuing young women who were taken from their families seems to be becoming a full-time job for Tristan and the others as they also deal with new problems at home.
Making new friends and allies is tricky during a pandemic apocalypse when not everyone is trustworthy. Some of them are already familiar with such trust issues.
Procuring supplies for their ever-growing and evolving base is dangerous but a risk that has to be taken and often. Traitors and enemies within and without their group will cause even more strife and hardship on the survivors.
Surviving the virus will prove the least of their problems as a new threat in the area presents itself. As relationships deepen and their bonds grow within their group, they also face just as many outside threats that could take everything from them.

VS: Continuing on through my ancient Egyptian paranormal romance backlist, next comes MAGIC OF THE NILE, which is a standalone sequel to PRIESTESS OF THE NILE. Tyema, the heroine here, had been through very traumatic events as a child and the Egyptians were aware of post traumatic stress, although of course they didn’t call it that. She was a challenging heroine for me to write, exploring how she coped with her anxiety in various situations. I also had a great time writing about chariots, since the hero is a military officer who drives one. This is one of my favorite books (okay, do I say that every week??? Sorry!) And I got to revisit Sobek the Crocodile god. The book won several awards too, which is always gratifying for an author.

I had to laugh because yes, when I see that stock photo guy anywhere I always think “Darik”! He is a good looking guy and he sure fit Darik’s personality for me…Someday I’d love to be able to afford my own cover photo shoots but then we’re talking big money so probably not any time soon! Just a dream 🙂 I see ‘Mateer’ fairly often on other covers and also ‘Camron,” who I think is SEXY as all get out…but not so much ‘my’ other guys. It’s a funny world sometimes. But it’s nice for the cover models that their stock photos are so popular and useful! One of my favorite parts of doing this report weekly is seeing all the new covers. Best wishes and happy reading!
