Invisible Loner – Gendra—partblood daughter of an elite mossback soldier and the only shapeshifter to achieve the coveted dragon form—is anything but interesting. She’s actually plain and awkward and … invisible. Every guy she meets either looks right through her or—worse—thinks of her as just a friend. Fortunately Gen is far too practical to wallow in self pity. Much. A Search for True Love – But as Gen accompanies her oldest friends on a quest for Her Majesty High Queen Ursula, she can’t help feeling bitter about her lonely fate as, two by two, they pair off with each other. As usual, everyone but odd-woman-out Gen seems to be finding the happiness in true love that has always eluded her. And Gen’s pathetic attempts to come out of her shell have only met with social disaster. Dragon’s Daughter – Still, with magic rifts plaguing the Thirteen Kingdoms and a strange intelligence stalking them from an alter-realm, Gen has plenty to deal with—especially when she’s cut off from the group, isolated and facing a lethal danger. It just figures that Gen is on her own, once again. But with no one coming to save her, she has only herself to rely upon. And, perhaps, the help of a mysterious, stranded magician.

Blair is understandably nervous about her foster parents finally meeting her biological father, but even her worst imaginings didn’t include someone dropping dead right next to them. The ghost hunters – including a Reaper named Maura – are in search of a mysterious spirit rumoured to haunt the lake. Their search leads them to encounter a teenage girl whose disappearance was never solved, and with the town’s notoriously grumpy gargoyle police chief being as unhelpful as ever, Blair offers to help them dig up the truth. But some things are buried for a reason, and as they dig deeper, they begin to unearth something more sinister than a single disappearance. Can Blair help solve the mystery and lay a dangerous spirit to rest? Amazon KU

My name is Tamsin Vale and I’m the only living heir to all of Faerie. I want to do what’s right and use that position to help my people, but too many treat me as if I belong to them and that world.
And I cannot live my life that way. Nor can I keep pretending all my relationships are okay. Three are great, but it’s time to let one go and stop forcing myself to accept so much. The warlock and vampire elders are gone, arrested, for their crimes. People are upset how we’re handling so much or getting involved in “their” world. Funny, because all I heard when we were in hiding is people wished fairies would come back. I don’t have the time to focus on the complaints of others. I have too many of my own. The fairy elders and ancients are getting worse now that we’re out. At least people are finally hearing me that they are just as corrupt as the other councils were. The pushback is hard to deal with, but I refuse to let history repeat itself. I won’t. Nobody believes me that I’ll walk, but I will to save myself. Amazon KU

My whole life has been characterized by fighting. Fighting my family. And fighting for my life. Trust me—the first one is completely voluntary, and a lot of fun. The second? Not so much. To say my family dynamic is weird is the understatement of the century. I held my first sword when I was only five years old, and I learned how to dispose of a body before I turned ten. I may have a penchant for pink and sparkles…but that doesn’t mean I don’t know how to kick major ass as well. As if my life isn’t complicated enough, my body is being ravaged by a chronic, mystery illness. Seizures? Check. Passing out? Check. Agonizing pain? Check. A host of other unexplainable ailments? Double check.

VS: The next book in my Badari Warrior backlist is Honeymoon for the Alpha. This is my favorite cover, I think, of all my books. I always felt badly that Aydarr and Jill didn’t get any time to celebrate being mated but just had to dive straight into the war against the Khagrish and running Sanctuary Valley. I also was intrigued by the question of “What if they’d met in another place and time?” which was kind of my jumping off place inspiration for the plot. It was a fun novella to write. And there’s even quicksand (of a sort)!
Thrown together as helpless prisoners in the punishing conditions of a Khagrish lab, Jill and Aydarr fell in love. Claiming each other as mates despite only having one night alone in a cell, they formed a deep, loving mate bond. Now, a planetary year later, after escaping the lab and leading the ongoing rebellion against the enemy together, Aydarr longs for more. He wants a chance to show Jill how much she means to him.
He decides to risk everything to take his mate away from it all for a few days. But will the Khagrish, the threats lurking in the planet’s unexplored wilderness and the Badari goddess allow them to complete A Honeymoon for the Alpha?
LINKS TO RECENT NEW RELEASES POSTS from Veronica:
“New” is generally plus or minus a week or two. I try to catch up on ones I missed in recent months. And I may mention ‘special items’.
I do NOT cover every single new release in SFR/FantasyR/PNR. I never have. That would be an impossible task for any human! I assemble my list by hand every week based on various informal inputs, and I do curate the list to some extent…
Some authors aren’t in KU but still don’t list books with Apple or other platforms. This report is very time consuming to prepare so I’ve always had to limit myself and cannot go and look up every book on all the platforms. If an author gives me their other buy links, I include them here but generally I develop the post on my own, not from author-supplied information. I curate and prepare this post individually every week to help connect readers/books/authors and I have to be very careful not to give it so much time as an activity that I don’t write my own novels! Thanks for the feedback and happy reading!
I check and verify all the buy links at the time I create the post but after that I’m not responsible.
