The Kholorua. On Earth, we call them the Skyscrapers, or Whalemen. Giant, 400-foot tall creatures that are generally docile but have a nasty habit of taking people home as souvenirs. I was terrified when that massive orange cyclops showed up in my part of town and reached to pluck me up, but…turns out they take really good care of their pets. This place is a sanctuary. Bordered with tall walls and no escape, but the wilderness inside is a haven. Too bad the colony of humans already living here hate my gay ass. Only took me a few months to decide to take my gelly mattress and fuck off to the sandy beachfront and live there for the rest of my solitary life. Until Vano. A Væliāḷu, a race of amphibious people, is dropped in from the sky to live in the lake I’ve set up home at. Did I mean to fall in love with what is basically an alien merman? No, no of course not. But Vano’s an amazing man and it’s been a while since someone was so genuinely nice to me. And Væliāḷu have a physical reaction to falling in love, their bodies shifting to represent that life-bond they share. When his happened, I…I thought I’d found my soulmate. Until Mri. A female of his race, but this one on her deathbed. She’s got hardly a month left before her body shuts down for good, some fucked up evolutionary trait deciding that because she hasn’t had kids yet she’s not worth keeping alive. Which means Vano has some massive, sudden responsibilities to take care of. But she’s the damn sweetest person I’ve ever met, and I’m not surprised we fell in love at first sight. That doesn’t make her impending doom any easier to swallow, but if she’s able to have kids soon enough, then we’ll all be alright. Won’t we? We’ll be one big happy family right? Right. As long as she gives birth before her body fails her. No hurry. Amazon KU

I’ll marry a Varool and use his access to find the real assailant. I’m a soldier, not a pretty princess. So I’m stunned when the gorgeous prince claims me. Lun’s delicious touch sets me on fire. But orders force me to tell one stinking lie after another. The more I get to know the brave, noble alien, the more I like him. And the more I worry he’ll hate me forever. LUN – Dismay grips me as my brother’s damaged shuttle crash-lands in hostile wilderness. As prince of the Varool, I should focus on ruling my people. Yet I must know if my brother lives. Although Tandy potentially ordered the missile strike, her smell snags my senses and sets my blood racing. She is my fated mate. Despite the danger, I claim her. Our interests seem to align as we search the untamed planet, ready to discover the truth. Her beauty and strength tempt me at every turn, yet how can I trust her? Did she mate me to get close enough to kill me? Amazon KU

Welcome to Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2089. A city notorious for its extreme population density has found an unexpected way to not just survive a global climate apocalypse, but thrive: pump enough biological nanotech into the neighborhood and all of the bodies together form a self-sustaining, and even temperate, microclimate. Of course, this means that millions of humans have to stay put in order to maintain a livable temperature, and people are getting restless. All of the nanotech has also led to some surprises: certain people no longer need food or water while others can live without functioning organs. So the mercenary Djibrel has to carry a machete wherever he goes. Only a swift beheading can ensure the job gets done anymore. Djibrel navigates the crowded streets, humans teeming with genetic mutations, looking for answers about what happened to the Djinn, a magical super race of genies who seem to have disappeared, or merged, with humans for survival. What Djibrel doesn’t know is that his every move is being tracked by the infamous Cyber Mage—better known to his parents as Murzak, a privileged snarky teenager who regularly works for a Russian crime syndicate with a band of elite hackers, like his best friend ReGi, who resides in North Africa’s FEZ (Free Economic Zone). Respected and feared online, Murzak is about to embark on one of his biggest challenges: attending high school IRL. But when he discovers a brand new type of AI, operating on a dark web from the abandoned Kingdom of Bahrain that he thought was just an urban myth, Murzak and Djibrel will have to face the unimaginable in an already inconceivable world.

I only wish I hadn’t brought the psychotic men of the wild hunt with me. I can find out the Mad King’s secrets. I can stop his destruction myself. He is my father after all. His reckless magic runs through my blood. And like I said, it’s to die for. One of us will find that out first hand. Amazon KU

Ivory: I see him watch me. Everywhere I go—he follows. He’s one of my father’s guards at the castle. Goes by the name Mastodon. There’s something about him I don’t like, but my warnings are never taken seriously. But I bet if my brother voiced the same concerns that would be no issue…just because he has balls and I don’t. Well, I have bigger balls than he ever will. When I leave for the Capital, Mastodon escorts me. And just as I feared, he kills my guards and captures me. At least he tries to capture me. There’s a lot of running and chasing. I land an arrow right in his neck, but it does nothing. It’s like he doesn’t even feel it. He takes me into a cavern and we descend deep underground—to the Bottom of the Cliffs. Then he tells me why he’s doing this. Because my family took everything from him—and now he’s about to do the same. Mastodon: Her father murdered mine then raped my mother—and forced me to watch. Then he pushed us over the cliff—to our deaths. But we survived—and now we’re ready for revenge. She’s the key to that. After she helps us get what we need, I’ll hang her by her pretty neck and watch her take her last breath. I steal her from Delacroix—and of course, she fights me the whole way. Not just with her fists, but her mouth too. If she wasn’t my pawn, I might actually like her. When I hand her over to my mother, I realize she has far more sinister plans. She tells me to do exactly what her father did—and force her. That’s not the kind of man I am, so the answer is no. But then she asks Geralt—the most barbaric man I’ve ever met. So I volunteer—because I know she’d rather it be me than anyone else. Amazon KU

He’s the new alpha (and a red hot single daddy), and they want me to marry him to bring peace. I know it’s a lot to ask, but when we first meet, I’m drawn to him. Perhaps it’s his commanding experience versus my innocence. Perhaps it’s just his scorching hot looks that make him every woman’s wet dream. The contract for this arranged marriage is straightforward and simple. But the implications are massive. I keep telling myself that this is my chance to do some good for the pack.
Still, I can’t help but think of what this really means. It means moving into his home and be a step mom to his little girl. It means moving into his bed and be his lover in the night. It means pretending to be mates even though we can’t be. But most of all: it means telling myself over and over again that this is all fake. Even when I want it to be so much more. Amazon KU
VS Note: From NOV 15
Conall and Aedan, having reached their sixteenth year, both leave their homes to go on a quest for their spirit guides, only to be swept into intrigue and mystery when the Elder Druids tell the boys they are tied to prophecy about a great war between the Ancient Ones, the Ársa and the Fonn, who want to do battle on the lands of Inis Crainnshir—one that could destroy both the mortal and immortal realms alike, including Tir na nÓg, the Otherworld. To prevent this, Conall—with his hawk, Lann—and Aedan—with his dragon, Fiachra—will journey to find the thirteen Wands of Danu dispersed across the world. Not only will they travel through perilous lands unknown, but also contend with banshees and other monsters, as well as the dark Fomoragh, a demonic band whose sole purpose is chaos. With the aid of druids, friends—new and unlikely, and heroes, Conall and Aedan need to go from farm boys to warriors if they have any chance for success. They learn something, however, that ties them to the Ancient Ones, something that will challenge their quest and forever alter their friendship.
Save the world first, get some later. Being the somewhat-good guy is exhausting sometimes.
The Ancients’ world is under attack. And the lips delivering this unexpected news to me are even
more unexpected. They belong to Lokene, the charming and mischievous young man I fell in
love with before my beloved Atlantis sank into the sea. The Ancients have sent him to request
my aid because he’s my mate, and they think I will listen to him. Did I mention Lokene is an Ancient? Oh, and he has the ability to give me legs, and take them away, at will. I swear he’s enjoying this. If I could train my great white shark, Sheba, I’d be teaching her to nip his butt. Look, these new legs are great, but I need to save the world right now… not be distracted by the thought of all the fun times this body and my five mates could have together. On top of that, I’m still …(more blurb on ebook seller page…) Amazon KU
I’m sorry, Dani. Those three words echo through my mind and tug at the broken strings of my heart.
Bonds, magic, and lies seem to make up my world right now as it crashes around me.
All I wanted was a normal life, to go to college and try to put the shadows of my past behind me. Instead, my world has been turned upside down, and my bright future at Black Veil University is suddenly looking dim. The shadows are closing in, putting those I love most at risk, and they will stop at nothing to get what they want. Amazon KU
Everyone wants to be different, until they are. Take it from a true Heinz 57, being special isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Especially when it sets off a series of events that will end the world. You know, the catastrophe I was sent to prevent in the first place. Fate has a funny way of doing whatever it wants.
In trying to change the future, I’m now the catalyst for destruction. I should have known it was a bad omen when I shifted into a white raven instead of a wolf. Our enemies may be more powerful than we ever imagined, but I’ve got a talking crow and Bloody Mary on my side. I have friends now—and family. Not to mention, one hell of a love life I have no intention of giving up. I would die for any of them, but that’s not the plan. It’s time to see if I can stop this black swan. Tick. Tock. Amazon KU

VS Note: Re-release – a “newly revised edition of Bowen’s Battle” per the author.
What happens when the wolf is unleashed? Bowen’s used to life as a lone wolf. He has the occasional hook-up, but rarely with the same man twice. Chiz is an exception to his rule, and one night’s adventure that neither of them expected forces Bowen to see Chiz as more than just a pretty sub he can scratch his itch for rough sex with. Chiz has his own rules for getting off with guys. His secret crush on Bowen was supposed to remain just that—a secret—until the one night that changes everything, and hiding things is impossible. Then there’s Dare, the big tough bar owner who has questions for Bowen and Chiz and whose attraction to them is too strong to resist…and is just as powerful as the feelings Bowen and Chiz have for him. But giving in to the overpowering sexual pull makes Bowen lose control of his wolf—an act that changes not only his fate but Chiz’s and Dare’s too. Can their relationship survive what they unleash?
For most of my life, I’ve known that I was meant to be mated to Ryker Wolfson. We’ve hit some bumps along the way, but I finally decided I’d be better off following my heart over licking my wounded pride. So, yeah, our Luna Ceremony was as eventful as the rest of our courtship. Ryker was challenged by his former Beta, and they had their fight to the death right beneath the moon. Ryker was left standing and I was mated in a bloody white dress. Too bad Aleksander refused to accept my invite. My old vamp roomie would’ve gotten a kick out of that. Still, now it’s official. I’m the Alpha female of the Mountainside Pack. Only I’m not just mated to the Alpha male—I’m a born Alpha myself and every wolf on the East Coast knows it. Did I really expect that it wouldn’t get back to my birth pack? I might’ve ignored my bio-dad’s latest summons, but nothing says “go home” like his wolves snatching one of my packmates. And while I’m no fan of Trish Danvers, no way can I leave her with my cruel sperm donor and his goons. I have to go. Without a Beta to watch over the pack, Ryker is forced to stay behind. He doesn’t like it, but he knows better than most that I can take care of myself. I mean, he still has the scar over his heart to prove it. But when I learn that my suspicions were right, that Trish’s abduction was a trap laid specifically for me, I have to rely on my belief that the moon got it right, that Ryker really is meant to be mine, and that we’ll be together forever. Because one thing I know for sure? I won’t be able to take his rejection again. Amazon KU
I never thought it would happen. He promoted me at last! My boss, to put it lightly, is one of those bad boy dragon shifters who took over the restaurant I work at. His clan father beforehand almost wrecked the business, and he’s trying to keep it afloat. It’s not working, and he’s becoming desperate. Desperate enough to finally listen to me, and take on my ideas. I’ll get this place shipshape for Christmas. Fill it with holiday cheer. I’ll prove to him I’m worth the effort. In the meanwhile, it’s difficult not to grow more and more attracted to him. To see past that alpha male façade for who he really is. Maybe it’s his magic that draws me in.Maybe it’s destiny to fall in love with him. Amazon KU
Inspired by the Snow Queen, a romantic fairy tale retelling…When my father made a deal to keep his throne, I did not know I was part of the bargain. I’m given in marriage to King Henrick–the fierce Bear King of the North. He tells me he can offer me everything but love. When I find out that his heart was frozen–cursed by the Ice Queen, I’m determined to help him. Now, I must find a way to thaw the ice around his heart. Amazon KU
VS: The next book up in my backlist is STAR CRUISE OUTBREAK, the second novel in my STAR CRUISE series set aboard a luxury interstellar cruise ship. Sort of ‘love boat of the stars’. This one was written long before COVID and my inspiration was actually the many outbreaks of norovirus on cruise ships, as well as Legionnaire’s Disease. I did a TON of research for this one, to ‘design’ my alien virus. I also really enjoyed the challenge of doing justice to the heroine, Dr. Emily Shane, a war hero with serious PTSD issues. This is also the first book where pets in space appear, although it pre-dated the beginning of the Pets in Space anthology series. I was inspired by the pets in Andre Norton’s old Solar Queen scifi series.
Dr. Emily Shane, veteran of the Sector Wars, is known as “The Angel of Fantalar” for her bravery under fire as a medic. However, the doctor has her own war wounds–severe PTSD and guilt over those she failed to save.
Persuaded to fill a seemingly frivolous berth as ship’s doctor on the huge and luxurious interstellar cruise liner Nebula Zephyr, she finds the job brings unexpected perks–a luxe beach deck with water imported from Tahumaroa II, and Security Officer Jake Dilon, a fellow veteran who heats her up like a tropical sun.
However, Emily soon learns she and Jake didn’t leave all peril behind in the war. A mysterious ailment aboard the Zephyr begins to claim victim after victim … and they must race against time and space to find the cause and a cure! Trapped on a ship no spaceport will allow to dock, their efforts are complicated by a temperamental princess and a terrorist–one who won’t hesitate to take down any being in the way of his target. If anyone’s left when the disease is through with them…
LINKS TO RECENT NEW RELEASES POSTS from Veronica:
“New” is generally plus or minus a week or two. I try to catch up on ones I missed in recent months. And I may mention ‘special items’.
I do NOT cover every single new release in SFR/FantasyR/PNR. I never have. That would be an impossible task for any human! I assemble my list by hand every week based on various informal inputs, and I do curate the list to some extent…
Some authors aren’t in KU but still don’t list books with Apple or other platforms. This report is very time consuming to prepare so I’ve always had to limit myself and cannot go and look up every book on all the platforms. If an author gives me their other buy links, I include them here but generally I develop the post on my own, not from author-supplied information. I curate and prepare this post individually every week to help connect readers/books/authors and I have to be very careful not to give it so much time as an activity that I don’t write my own novels! Thanks for the feedback and happy reading!
I check and verify all the buy links at the time I create the post but after that I’m not responsible.
